Thrift Haul (January 5, 2011)

Hey loves!

So I went thrifting last week with my sister and a friend and got some really amazing things for even more amazing prices. We went on a specific day so we could take advantage of all the sales on the already-cheap merch.

Btw, these pictures were taken with my new camera, the Canon PowerShot SD940. It was a Christmas gift from my parents because our other small digital camera was about 4 years old and it was time for a new one. I wanted to test out the quality so I thought this would be the best way. I think the photos came out pretty well, which is a relief because now I don't have to lug around my Canon Rebel XSi everywhere anymore.

You can click on the images to view them full-size.

Anyways, on to the goodies...

I'm thinking of cutting these into shorts because the hem is really unflattering.

After the first place, we moved onto another store I haven't gone to in a couple of months. These next items I was soooo excited about because I've been wanting some for a while. I'm planning on moving rooms and I wanted to hang these up on my wall. There were tons of vinyls in this store so I didn't have a sufficient amount of time to sift through them all, but I'm happy with the ones I picked out.

They're supposed to be $1.00 each but the guy (who always hooks me up) gave 7 of 'em to me for just $5.00. :) He also hooked up my friend who picked out a knitted sweater ($9.00) and two BRAND NEW Members Only jackets ($10.00 each) and only charged her $9.00 for everything. Thanks, dude!

I took a music class last semester which introduced me to eras of music I overlooked in the past. I've gained a newfound appreciation for some of these artists.

Photobucket I don't like the cover too much but Ray Charles AND Harry Belafonte? Sold. Photobucket

Because I started off every morning with "Love Train" for, like, two months straight.

I would try to justify this purchase by insisting on how pretty the cover is but... ah, okay. Look, I'm Filipino. How could I not?

Photobucket

Because I first heard "L-O-V-E" from my all-time faaavorite movie, "The Little Rascals."

Photobucket

Because Lionel's songs bring back good memories and he is so suave on the cover!

Photobucket

Not that I listen to Beethoven or anything, but reigning as one of the greatest composers of all time even after he grew deaf is something that speaks volumes to me. Plus, I love the cover.

Photobucket

Because I truly, truly, truly adore this man. And as corny as it sounds... "The Impossible Dream" is dear to my heart.

Photobucket

The cover is just SICK. My absolute favorite from that day. Also, my parents first danced as husband and wife to Barbra's song "Evergreen."

The next and final stop of the day was Buffalo Exchange.

My sister actually found these sunglasses and they were the last pair, so good job to her on that! $8.50

These babies were only $11.00! I love them. These are the shoes I will most likely be wearing to see Gaga in March. I can't wait for you to see what I'm gonna wear! ;]

I know this was a long post but I hope you enjoyed it. Some people are hesitant to shop at thrift stores because most things are used, which I understand. But give it a try because you never know what gems you'll find. And always always always remember to thoroughly wash, clean, and/or disinfect everything you buy from secondhand stores.

xoxo
